My Daughter and I went for a walk at dusk yesterday and were
excited to discover all different kinds of berries and seeds ripe on vines and
shrubs- so we decided to pick a bunch and try to identify them all
with the exception of that top one.
We also discovered that one of the branches of yellow/white berries we
had gathered were actually poison ivy berries! after realizing our mistake we
quickly threw them out and proceeded to wash our hands several times with soap
and water...fingers crossed neither one of us seems to have rotten a rash from it (yet)

drawing Challenge- Dress

Patrice is the host of the drawing challenge this weekend with the theme "Dress"
For my drawing I used a photo of an antique dress I had awhile back- with hand drawn detail.
I was thinking about the dress as an artifact and the many layers like sediment the lines represent. History and coverings- obviously made with love and care for some little child.
Please visit Patrice's Blog! for more dress' and have a great weekend :)

I love how moody Autumn can be...
Some scenes from our weekend in Vermont, a place
I keep thinking I should move to but always find a reason not

Finally back in the ceramic studio
I decided to work in three's this round- and really loving it

Some projects from around the house- first completing my little hooked rug
cat and cactus I turned into a cozy pillow, and just beginning a new series
of portraits- this time sheep...

These are fabric compositions that I'm embroidering over...
not sure where they are going exactly- sometimes it goes like that :)
maybe they are sketches or a small book?? Haven't tried that before.

We are off once again ...this time to Vermont
Hope you have a lovely weekend!

I've been spending more time on Instagram  as of late...
but I'm still trying to keep up the appearance of maintaining
an active I thought I would share a small rug I'm making
which I think will turn into a pillow by the size of it...
And I've also been gifted a good size floor loom and had the good fortune
of meeting some local women who weave and latched onto them to get my
feet wet with the process of hand weaving- nothing to show on that
front yet as I'm still learning how to "dress" my loom and address the missing
pieces and extraneous tools needed to actually make something :)

We are traveling a lot on the weekends this fall- catching up with family mostly
and I haven't been able to make the drawing challenge for the past few weeks...
I'm hoping that will change after this coming weekend-
and have more "real" time to visit in blog land :)

Moving along at a snails pace on this blog...

I'm not sure why it gets harder to stay connected here
I enjoy visiting and reading and posting pictures
just not as often as I'd like

Got away to New Mexico this past weekend to be with my Spiritual Teacher
- something I've been doing now-at least once a year, for almost 13 years.
I always come home feeling inspired to reach beyond the present idea of myself
and how my life should or shouldn't be...working from the inside out :)
