I've decided to break up with my old self
That hesitating thief...who steals my confidence every time
I turn around to leave- but there you are looking like a lost child
and all I can think is you poor thing...
all you need is to hold my hand, I can protect you
I can lead you away from this jungle...
and that's when I see that I am separate from you
and yet... you are still me.

March has definitely come in like a very well fed lion here-
(finally finished my chubby lion hooked pillow)

we got some snow yesterday
that apparently broke records for the most snowfall in a season- but I've decided to ignore
it- the sun is out today and I'm having faith that the earth is in fact rotating closer to the sun
in our hemisphere and the birds are helping me out with their singing now in the morning.

We are still relying on indoor activities to mix things up though...
like bowling...

and ceramics :)

Thank goodness for creativity and movement!

I know it's been ages since I posted here- February was a deep month.
I had some surgery at the beginning of Feb. and along with the record amount
of snow fall we had (71 inches/1.8 meters) and freezing temperatures over the month
I have felt like I've been in a cave the past few weeks.
But the sun is out today and its above freezing and my orchid has bloomed
(it's been over a year since it last flowered- so I'm celebrating)

and even though the snow outside my window looks like a frozen tsunami
that's slowly making it's way into my basement- the sun seems stronger
and it's getting easier to move about in the world-

So I feel this coming spring I'm really getting a vivid experience of
what "emergence" is really all about :)

Inspired by the drama in side and outside this week...
oh the stories that go on in my head

Drawing Challenge- Unexpected

Joke gave us the theme of "unexpected" this weekend for the drawing challenge...
and though not much in the way of the unexpected happened to me this week I decided to try
and create a little unexpectedness for you- those things that unexpectedly make us smile
are definitely my favorite!
Check out Joke's blog for more of the unexpected :)

Well winter has come all at once this week
with more snow than anyone knows what to do with

Poor Farrah has been "cooped up" until one of the kids drags her
out in the snow or she fluffs up and makes her way out to the front
porch...(which is where she is now) eating seed that the wild birds are
dropping from the feeders...she's a tenacious old girl!

Meanwhile we have all been hunkered down inside keeping ourselves occupied
in one way or another- or bundled up outside clambering around in the snow...
Yesterday we had some sun but it's snowing again today and another storm is coming
in on Monday...so I'm getting really chummy with our snow blower...think I need to
hang out on some blogs in the middle of summer about now :)

Feeling like it's the end of the month already- even though it's not....
We've had a cold and often sunny start to the year- with very little snow
that seems to melt the next day. We've managed to get to a few museums this
month. I saw a great textile exhibit with my daughter and we always love
the Museum of Science in Boston...

As well as a few very brisk walks on the beach-
the kind where your eyes water, your face gets numb and your not
sure if your nose is going to fall off.

Thank you all for your kind comments and feedback on my shop!
It means a lot and is inspiring coming from you who
are bravely putting yourselves out there creatively...
I know my world is better when you share yours :)
