Have had a sad past few days..
my Grandmother of 93 past away peacefully in her sleep
over the weekend.
She was a strong character in my life in many ways
The drawing I did was from a picture of her, I believe she was about to throw
a cantaloupe at my Grandfather who was taking the picture- it always makes me smile
And we lost one of our hens a day or two before to what I think was a hawk...
she was a beauty, gentle and humorous girl.
I'm sad of course -but it also feels like nature has taken it's course here
and I can only do my best to carry them in my heart.
They were both named "Tess"
Only just I read your post, dear Kristen.
ReplyDeleteMy heartfelt sympathy!
I think you have captured her very well. As you describe her so is the character of your drawing.
Loving and honouring.
Tess... both.
Carrying in your heart is the best.
Love

Tess and Tess are loved and though it's always sad to part from loved ones, the love carries on and will carry you through, big hug, x
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry for you my dear, but dying at this age in your sleep is one of the most wonderful ways to die I think. Your grandmother surely loves your beautiful drawing, sitting on a clowd together with this beautiful hen - smiling.
